Last week, iGan Arabia was delighted to announce two new collaboration agreements with Beta Lab, the deep tech VC and co-creation studio for startups and Ascend Solutions, the distribution arm of GE Healthcare technology in Saudi Arabia. The signing of these MOUs will accelerate the development of the Kingdom’s deep tech innovation ecosystem. The Beta Lab MOU was signed alongside the pioneering Abdulrahman Alolayan in the presence of H.E. Khalid Al Falih, Ministry of Investment, and H.R.H. Khaled bin Alwaleed. The Ascend Solutions MOU was signed alongside their CCO, Mohamed Mady.
With closer relationships among the innovation and investment ecosystems, including through a flow of technology and talent between Canada and the GCC, the partnerships will jointly expedite paths to market for cutting-edge digital health technologies, and create significant impact for the GCC’s healthcare systems and populations.
These new partnerships will pave the way for the most innovative North American healthcare startups to expand to Riyadh and, in parallel, will support the best Saudi healthtech companies to scale internationally. iGan Arabia’s goal is to help establish the GCC as a world-class healthcare hub that will create thousands of new jobs and add value to the economy.
The GCC has proven to be an early adopter of innovation and iGan Arabia believes these new partnerships will unlock value and help leading regional healthcare technology companies grow and succeed globally. The Fund will help catalyze a vibrant ecosystem in the region, spurring innovation and driving the emergence of new startups in the healthtech sector.
iGan Arabia prioritizes working with and advancing the local healthtech ecosystems in MENA and the team collaborates extensively across the ecosystem to accelerate the development of entrepreneurial talent, innovation and IP, commercializable ventures, adoption and validation, and ultimately to unlock scalable growth and success. Through these new collaborations, the Fund can help young innovators and healthcare practitioners benefit in realizing their tech-entrepreneurial aspirations.
iGan Arabia brings the expertise of two successful international investment leaders, iGan Partners and Faisal Belhoul, who have proven credentials in driving MedTech venture capital funding and supporting healthcare entrepreneurs in Canada, the US and the GCC.
iGan Arabia invests in emerging companies with strong IP that can benefit the MENA healthcare systems and populations.
